Settling a Multi-Property Estate Without a Will
The Situation
A family in Kuala Lumpur contacted us after their father passed without leaving a will. The estate included a family home, an investment apartment, and bank accounts across two institutions. Three adult children were involved, all with different views on how to proceed.
What We Did
We guided the family through the Letters of Administration process, explained how the Distribution Act would determine the share each beneficiary was entitled to, and managed all communications with the Land Office and financial institutions. We held one family meeting to align expectations before filing.
The Outcome
The estate was fully administered within nine months. All three properties were transferred correctly, accounts released, and a final distribution statement provided to each beneficiary. The family remained on good terms throughout.

The Situation
