Our Story

How Mutiara Adil Came to Be

Mutiara Adil was established in Kuala Lumpur by a small group of legal practitioners who noticed something: families going through inheritance and estate matters were often left feeling confused, rushed, or overlooked. Many came away from their first legal appointments without a clear picture of what would happen next or what was being asked of them.

We set out to do things differently. Our name — which translates loosely to "Impartial Pearl" — reflects the qualities we bring to every matter: clarity, fairness, and a calm steadiness that helps families feel supported rather than overwhelmed.

From our office on Jalan Damansara, we serve clients across Kuala Lumpur and the wider Klang Valley, handling everything from straightforward estate planning consultations to more complex probate and inheritance dispute matters.

Our Mission

To make the legal side of inheritance and estate matters accessible and understandable for every Malaysian family, regardless of the complexity of their situation.

Our Vision

A legal practice where every family leaves their consultation feeling more informed, more at ease, and more confident about the path ahead.

Our Values

Honesty, patience, discretion, and a genuine respect for the people we serve. We do not rush matters that deserve careful attention.

How We Work

Our Professional Standards

We hold ourselves to clear benchmarks in every engagement — because the families who come to us deserve nothing less.

Bar Council Registration

All our practitioners are fully admitted members of the Malaysian Bar and adhere to the Legal Profession Act 1976 and its related rules of conduct.

Strict Confidentiality

Legal professional privilege applies to everything shared with us. Your family's affairs are protected and handled with the utmost discretion.

Document Accuracy

Every filing, application, and instrument we prepare is reviewed internally before submission to the relevant courts or authorities.

Impartial Representation

In family estate matters, we represent our client's interest clearly and without bias — and we are transparent about any situations where a conflict might arise.

Clear Communication

We commit to keeping clients informed. No unexplained delays, no legal jargon without a plain-language explanation alongside it.

Continued Legal Education

Our team regularly attends Bar Council CPD sessions and keeps up with amendments to the Probate and Administration Act and related legislation.

Legal Support for Inheritance Matters in Malaysia

Managing an estate in Malaysia involves navigating several overlapping legal frameworks — from the Probate and Administration Act 1959, to the Distribution Act 1958 for non-Muslim Malaysians, to the principles of Faraid for Muslim estates. Each situation is different, and the route through it depends on the nature of the assets, the existence of a valid will, and the number of beneficiaries involved.

Mutiara Adil has accumulated considerable familiarity with these processes over the years. Our work spans estate planning sessions for those who want to put their affairs in order early, through to probate applications and contested inheritance matters where families need considered representation before the courts.

What distinguishes our practice is not simply the range of services we offer, but the manner in which we offer them. We take time at the outset to listen carefully, to understand what a family is actually dealing with, and to map out the most appropriate path forward. Fees are discussed openly. Timelines are explained honestly. And we remain available throughout.
